With its diverse operations ongoing in many regions, the ITOCHU Group has ties to a great many stakeholders. To maintain our position as a part of society, we consider it to be most vital to determine our stakeholder’s expectations and concerns through communication with them and reflect these in our daily business operations. Our conviction is that ceaselessly incorporating the real desires of our stakeholders in our business management will allow us to become a Corporation / Group both needed by and trusted and supported by society in ten or a hundred years time. Building a trusting relationship with our stakeholders to contribute to both our Group’s development and to a sustainable society — for this, the ITOCHU Group must exercise CSR throughout the whole Group, ensuring CSR inside each Group company through conducting information sharing and study workshops amongst the Group. |

From FY 2006 ITOCHU Corporation has selected several Group companies to be promotion models, to ensure promotion of CSR in the ITOCHU Group. Concrete efforts of the companies to put CSR into practice are supported by the CSR Promotion Office. The model Group companies selected are sharing ideas on CSR for the ITOCHU Group, and have started implementing CSR after determining the current status of CSR activities and formulating CSR action plans with set CSR goals and challenges. From FY 2007 onwards we hope to expand CSR further throughout Group companies based on these implementation models. |
